Trace of Fever

Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor Series - Book 2

By Lori Foster

HQN - May 2011

Contemporary Romance

Trace of Fever is part of the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series involving human trafficking and the mercenaries dedicated to stopping it. Although this story does stand on its own, I would suggest starting with the prequel to the series Ready, Set, Jett, which involves the sister of the heroine of, what is technically Book 1 in the series, When You Dare.

Ever since his baby sister had been kidnapped, Trace Rivers had been dedicated in his efforts of eradicating human trafficking. Although she had been quickly rescued by his friend and business partner Dare, he had no intentions of allowing any person to go through such a horrific ordeal if he could prevent it.

Which was why he was on his current assignment, undercover, working for Murry Coburn. He was finally closing in on getting the information he needed when a complication walked through Murry's front doors. A complication claiming to be Murry's daughter, and who could potentially not only end up messing Trace and Dare's meticulous plans, but could also end up dead.

Priscilla Patterson had planned for this day for years, and she was not going to allow some false bodyguard to thwart her carefully laid plans. And she had no doubt that Trace wasn't exactly who he claimed to be. He was too intent on her leaving "for her own good" - and someone who was truly Murry's would never risk warning her. Priscilla had good instincts when it came to people, and just as rotten as she knew Murry to be, she was certain Trace was the good guy, a hero - but a hero was not what she wanted. She needed to do this herself.

Trace of Fever is another exciting read in Lori Foster's Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series. Trace was a wonderful hero - dedicated, strong, resourceful, and determined to help others. Perfect for Priscilla, who was a bit too headstrong. I was a bit annoyed with her for allowing her emotions to overcome logic when using judgment. But luckily, these men who walk the edge of honor had her back.

Readers will be thrilled with the tantalizing teases that lead into Book 3 of the series, Savor the Danger - featuring Trace's baby sister.
