Proposal at the Winter Ball

Harlequin Romance #4500

Harlequin - December 2015

Contemporary Romance

Alex Fitzgerald needed an interior designer for a week long business trip to promote the soon-to-be opened exclusive resort hotel he had designed. And he knew the best person for the job, his best friend, Flora Buckingham. He knew her talent would be perfect, it was just her confidence that seemed to need support.

Flora needed a new direction, and Alex's proposal was ideal. They were best friends, knew each other's strengths and weaknesses, and moving from best friends, to, well, business associates seemed a natural progression.

This was the perfect opportunity for both of them. For Alex, it was the possibility of a major new contract, and for Flora, a chance to finally pursue her natural gifts. But it was also the opportunity for something else. A slight misunderstanding, and Alex and Flora soon found themselves pretending to be a couple. And with the romantic, intimate setting the resort provided, there was no hiding from the attraction they feel for one another.

Proposal at the Winter Ball was a best friends romance set in a winter wonderland. Part of the week's promotion was to experience the resort's amenities, and two best friends who have been denying their feelings were not up to the challenge of resisting overlong. I enjoyed watching Flora and Alex overcome the obstacles they've put up to finally come together. My only regret is that I can't take a week's vacation at that resort - at no cost!
