Wrapped and SEALed

Short Story in SEAL of My Dreams Anthology

By Leslie Kelly

Bell Bridge Books - 2011

Contemporary Romance

Tanner Boudreau never wanted to disappoint his grandparents. They had raised him and his sister after their parents died. He was a SEAL, and had been trained to withstand anything - well apparently anything other than the pleading sound of his grandmother's voice.

He had a few goals while home on leave for Christmas. One, of course, was to spend the holidays with his family and share news he knew would be the best gift he could give. His other primary goal was to find a woman. Not any woman, but the woman whose memory had haunted him for years. He only had a few facts - her first name, that she was a doctor, and that she was from the same area he was from.

He never expected agreeing to help his grandmother at the assisted living facility would be the best decision he ever made.

Wrapped and SEALed is a wonderful short story of family, love, and bringing together two people who circumstances had almost kept apart. They had met briefly, but a battle had quickly pulled them apart. Too quickly. Now, fate has finally given them another opportunity - if only they take the leap.

Each story in this anthology may involve SEALS, but is to support veterans, of any branch. In Wrapped and SEALed, there is a brief scene involving a veteran who had been aboard the USS Indianapolis. I would like to thank Leslie Kelly for including this in her story. I hope that other readers are as intrigued as I was and decide to delve further into the history of that ship, and the trauma of its sinking. I had heard of the incident before, but now have learned so much more. We must never forget, and always be thankful for the sacrifices that our veterans have made for us.
