Invincible

The Chronicles of Nick - Book 2

By Sherrilyn Kenyon

St. Martin's - March 2011

The Chronicles of Nick begins with Nick at the age of 14, and shows his introduction to the world of the Dark Hunters. It completely stands on its own as a young adult series. However, as a reader, if you are reading the Dark Hunter series, there are spoilers in this book that are revealed at a later age of Nick. As such, you might consider reading the Dark Hunter series through at least Acheron before reading Book 1, Infinity. If you choose to read all the books in this world in chronological order, which includes Dark Hunter, Dream Hunter and Chronicles of Nick, then read through Bad Moon Rising before Infinity, then read through No Mercy before Invincible.

His new boss had fangs. Nick had heard many times that his mouth could shorten his life, but he never expected his new boss to be the cause of his death. Oh wait, Kyrian had rescued him, given him a job, and even better - found a new place for his mom to work. Maybe he could trust the vampire, or Dark-Hunter, or whatever he called himself.

He didn't know who else he should trust. Each new person in his life said he could trust them, but they also said not to trust others, maybe trust his instincts. Yeah, right. And maybe his new trainer Grim hung around with Pain and Suffering just for kicks. But having the Grim Reaper come call wasn't the worst of his current problems. Demons were everywhere, well, some were ok, but others were out for his demise. Which was odd considering Grim wasn't...

Such was Nick Gautier's new life. If only going to school wasn't the hardest part of his day.

Invincible was another fascinating glimpse into the changing world of the Dark Hunters. Although written as a young adult novel, Dark Hunter fans are truly the intended audience. Everything they learned and saw in the previous books is shifting as the Chronicles of Nick progress. Entertaining, filled with a vast eclectic cast of characters, and danger at every turn of the page, Invincible will leave readers young and young at heart eager to see what happens next. After all, Dark Hunter readers have seen what was to come, now, the question is will it still happen. Then if it doesn't, what happens with the previous stories in this world. Only Ms Kenyon knows for certain, and fans impatiently await to find out.
