A Taste For Scandal

Sealed With a Kiss Series - Book 2

By Erin Knightley

Signet Eclipse - December 2012

Historical Romance

Life was good for Richard Moore. He was the Earl of Raleigh, and he adored his family. He knew he was in line to be the next Marquis of Granville, but he would much prefer for that day to be very far in the future. He liked to live life as he was, and he neither wanted to lose his father, nor have to face the responsibilities that came with that title. His father, however, had other ideas. He kept harping on about his own mortality, and his mother wanted to parade all the eligible debutantes.

He might live a life of leisure, but Richard also had no intention of allowing a woman, any woman, to be accosted. He might have tried to be a hero, but he ended up crashing into the life of one Jane Bunting, a woman unlike any he had ever met. His title was meaningless to her. In fact, he would say that his having a title lowered him in her esteem. But Richard was intrigued by the baker. Her baking was incomparable, and he was impressed with her good business sense. He wanted to help, but she was proud. He would have to find another way.

Jane had taken over running the family bakery and raising her younger brother after both their parents died. She had no time for flowers or frippery, or a dashing Earl who quite inexplicably kept returning to bother her. He kept appearing in her life, and Jane knew she needed him to leave. Her life was precarious, and she needed there to be no hint of scandal. Unfortunately, scandal and Richard Moore were almost synonymous, and soon, Jane learned she had a fondness for both.

A Taste For Scandal is the second in Erin Knightley's Sealed With a Kiss series. We had met Richard in More Than a Stranger , when his sister Evie was courted by his best friend. I had adored him then, and was thrilled to learn that his story would soon follow. The interaction between him and his family made me laugh out loud, and his courtship and growing love for Jane endeared him even more. I thoroughly am enjoying this series and look forward to returning to visit the Moore family again and again.
