A Tapestry of Spells

A Novel of the Nine Kingdoms - Book 4

By Lynn Kurland

Berkley Sensation - January 2010

Epic Fantasy Romance

Sarah of Doire had one goal - to stop her brother Daniel. She may be the daughter of the local witchwoman, but she knew she did not have the abilities necessary to thwart his evil intentions. She knew she would have to start a quest like the Heroes of legends.

Ruithneadh of Ceangail had survived a horrific event unleashed by his own father's greed for power, then hidden away for the last twenty years. He had also buried his own magic within himself. But the arrival of a young village lass with noble intentions stirred him to action. Ruith was certain that Daniel was incapable of performing magic as destructive as Sarah feared, but as they followed his path, he worried exactly where it would lead.

The two embark on a quest filled with danger, magic, and unexpected companions. They endure hardships, and face lies and deceit - even between themselves.

A Tapestry of Spells is an exciting introduction to a new trilogy in the world of the Nine Kingdoms. Filled with danger, spells, swordplay, magic, kingdoms, love and mages, readers are transported to a world they will be eager to return to. The characters are well crafted, the plot elaborate, and the romance passionate, sweet, and endearing. Having read the previous three stories, I was absolutely thrilled to learn that Lynn Kurland was writing a new trilogy involving the Nine Kingdoms.

[Sidebar Comment: The length of time between the stories combined with their complexity makes it difficult to remember everything from before. Also, it was hard to determine exactly when this story is set in comparison to the previous trilogy.]
