Scaredy Cat

Short Story in Tails of Love Anthology

By Patricia Sargeant

Berkley Sensation - June 2009

Contemporary Romance

Ten authors coming together and providing short stories for an anthology. Ten short stories with both romance and animals. Tails of Love is an anthology by authors united together with their love of animals in support of an animal shelter.

Cats have good intuition when it comes to people, at least that is what Kendra Willis's neighbor said. And maybe he was right. Her boyfriend had absolutely no compassion for the stray she had rescued. When he said she had to decide between him and the cat, well, there really wasn't much of a decision to be made.

Tom liked the lady who had brought him into her home. She was really nice, much too nice for Harvey. He had someone else in mind for her. There was a male down the street who was perfect for her. He just needed to be brave against the gang who ruled between her house and his.

Scaredy Cat was an entertaining romance certain to please. The romance between Kendra and Paul was perfect. He was compassionate and willing to help when needed. Readers will also cheer Tom on as he must face his fears to help his mistress.

Included in Tails of Love are: Man's Best Friend by Lori Foster, A Knotty Tail by Stella Cameron, Norah's Arc by Kate Angell, The Pursuit of Happiness by Dianne Castell, Atticus Saves Lisa by Ann Christopher, Rescue Me by Marcia James, Lord Hairy by Donna MacMeans, Danny's Dog by Sarah McCarty, Scaredy Cat by Patricia Sargeant, and A Man, A Woman, and Haggis by Sue-Ellen Welfonder.
