Owen Embersson had different assignments on the Nebula Zephyr. His official position was that of Cargo Master. Unofficial position was caretaker of his cat Moby, and the alien pet Midorri. And it was Moby and Midorri who showed him that they had a stowaway. A stowaway who had been chained, placed in fluid, and was unconscious.
Owen felt an obsession to be a protector to this woman, even before he learned how Tyrelle had been taken from her planet and forced into slavery. She was sweet, had healing skills, and could talk to his pets. Which was nice as she confirmed that they liked him. He knew he wanted her to stay with him, but she had enemies who were after her, as were the authorities.
Star Cruise: Stowaway was an entertaining short story. I loved the unique Midorri as well as Owen's relationship with both of his pets. Even better was what a wonderful hero he was for Tyrelle. Tyrelle was an amazing heroine herself wanting to always do what was right. I found Star Cruise: Stowaway to be overall enjoyable, and as it appears to be part of a series, I would like to visit the Star Cruise again.
