A Man, A Woman, and Haggis

Short Story in Tails of Love Anthology

Berkley Sensation - June 2009

Paranormal Romance

Ten authors coming together and providing short stories for an anthology. Ten short stories with both romance and animals. Tails of Love is an anthology by authors united together with their love of animals in support of an animal shelter.

Jilly Pepper was an American in Scotland on a mission, and it didn't include eating haggis. That was until she decided to prove she was not an ignorant tourist. Luckily, a dog named Haggis showed up and saved her from that fate.

Kieran MacColl offered to take Jilly on a tour of the loch on his boat as an apology for Haggis's behavior. But that was only an excuse. From the moment he saw Jilly, something drew him to her. He only hoped to find a way to keep her from leaving.

A Man, A Woman, and Haggis was a fun romance with a past mystery, matchmakers, and even a ghost dog. Filled with colorful characters, this story was entertaining from beginning to end. I loved Jilly's strong resolve to prove she could eat the Haggis, her reaction at realizing she was seeing ghosts, and simply watching Kieran and Jilly fall in love.

Included in Tails of Love are: Man's Best Friend by Lori Foster, A Knotty Tail by Stella Cameron, Norah's Arc by Kate Angell, The Pursuit of Happiness by Dianne Castell, Atticus Saves Lisa by Ann Christopher, Rescue Me by Marcia James, Lord Hairy by Donna MacMeans, Danny's Dog by Sarah McCarty, Scaredy Cat by Patricia Sargeant, and A Man, A Woman, and Haggis by Sue-Ellen Welfonder.
