Imagine Me and You

Short Story in Animal Attraction Anthology

By Maisey Yates

HQN - June 2013

Contemporary Romance

Four authors coming together and providing short stories for an anthology. Animal Attraction is an anthology of four romances written to support a charity.

When Samantha Parker found herself in need of temporary housing - just until she found a place both she and her dog Poppy could live - she knew there was one person who would never turn her away. Jace Colter. Her best friend. Her rock. Her one constant in a life of continual change

While Jace is more than happy to have Sam stay with him, he'd rather not have a dirty dog messing up his home. But Sam and Poppy are a package deal, and he could deal. Just like he was dealing with the unwelcome reactions he was having when he was with Sam. Or when he thought of Sam. She was his best friend, and he needed to remember that.

Imagine Me and You was a best friends to lovers romance, which is a storyline I'm always partial to. Samantha had only ever had one strong relationship. And it hadn't even been with a parent. It had been with Jace, and she would do everything in her power to keep from jeopardizing their strong friendship. Jace, however, can no longer stand to simply be a pillar to keep her strong. He needed a deeper relationship. I loved watching as they navigated their way to one another.

Included in Animal Attraction are: Buckhorn Ever After by Lori Foster, Imagine Me and You by Maisey Yates, Gimme Shelter by Heidi Betts and Partner in Crime by Jules Bennett
